In The Process, our online group program, we provide you with the tools, skills, & resources to take the next step on your healing journey, wherever you may be in this moment.

Our week of Understanding is vital to the healing & repair of our relationships — both with ourselves & with others.

Understanding is about recognizing that we’re all uniquely the way we are because of our life experiences & our histories, which differ from person to person. 

By listening & learning, we understand ourselves & others more deeply, which is an important part of creating lasting transformation for ourselves & our relationships.  

In our week of Understanding we

  • Unpack trauma, what it is & what it's not

  • Acknowledge the various types of trauma

  • Get to know our own trauma history 

  • Recognize & link our present-day triggers with past experiences

  • Get into contact with our adaptations, conditioning, & protective reactions

  • Remember that we are (& always have been) doing our best to survive, staying safe & connected

Understanding helps to contextualize & normalize the way we’re showing up in the world. It also helps us to cultivate curiosity & compassion for ourselves & others.

Understanding is an important part of the healing process.

Within The Process, we turn to the emerging field of epigenetics, somatic trauma therapy modalities & research such as inner child work, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory & Somatic Experiencing to help us understand ourselves on a deeper, whole-being-based level. 

Why? Because they all share a common thread that reveals & explores the fact that our past is still very much present within our bodies & beings, until we do the work.

In other words, these therapies help us understand WHY we are the way we are & teach us how to repair old wounds. 

But remember, understanding is just a part of the process

It comes after growing our somatic Awareness, building Tolerance through resourcing, and turning Toward our felt-sense experiences (our instincts, impulses, sensations, & emotions).

This ^^ all happens before moving into the mind or cognitive part of ourselves.

Understanding why we are the way we are, is a very brain-forward process, & though important, we prioritize the body processes first. 

This is exactly what we’re doing in our online group program, & we're excited to share that new dates are open for The Process 2024 enrollment!
