What to Expect in the Practice Library

  • Our library of practices is perfect for individuals of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners – if you aim to improve your physical, mental, emotional, and/or nervous system health, we have resources tailored to your needs. Our programs are suitable if you're recovering from a physical injury, managing chronic pain, seeking trustworthy guidance, wanting to enhance overall performance (flexibility, strength, mobility), or looking for efficient and effective daily practices. It's also beneficial if you're focused on enhancing overall wellness, managing stress (including anxiety & depression), regulating emotions, or simply striving to feel more grounded, connected, and capable of navigating life's demands.

  • We offer a variety of practice styles for a variety of outcomes, all aimed to improve mind-body strength, flexibility, and connection.

Our physical practices will help you to get to know your body deeply and accurately all while improving overall functionality. Training methods include FRC Mobility Training, Strength Training, Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Cardio, and Somatics. These practices range from simple to complex, depending on the difficulty level, are all organized by areas of the body, and vary in length. The pace is always slow and deliberate, and the movements are precise and intelligent, guided with intention and specificity.

Our guided meditations and Yoga Nidra sessions will help you to get in touch with the more subtle aspects of yourself. Each experience offers careful guidance to encourage more presence, awareness, connection, and regulation. Through visualizations and journeys of self-reflection and self-discovery, you will learn to cultivate lasting inner resources and capacity. These meditations aim to support you to fully engage in your life and in your relationships.

Our Rest and Restore practices allow your mind and body the space to engage in its natural healing processes. Melt into soft, gentle, soothing postures that offer you the opportunity to settle and steep into deep rest. These practices are meant to guide your nervous system towards regeneration, repair, and restoration.

  • Each practice in the library has a list of the PROPS NEEDED. Props may include:

What People Have to Say About On Demand

The Messina Movement Instructors

LISA MESSINA

An expert in the field of movement education and human development. Expect intentional, responsible, and intelligent instruction, strategies backed by exercise science, and information passed down to you from years of experience and training in an array of modalities. Lisa is Yoga Alliance Certified at the highest level: E-RYT 500 and YACEP; an FRC Mobility Specialist; a Certified Pilates Instructor; has 10 Years of study in Relational Somatic Psychotherapy; is a Certified Holistic Coach; and an ex-professional and competitive dancer.

CAIT RYAN

As a movement teacher, Cait (she/her) has spent learning from + connecting with the spaces in between; creating room to play in the complexities of rhythm, exploring form without limit and space beyond time. With over 800hrs of training she is informed by her teachers and education programs – mentor Lisa Messina (YYoga), misfitmethod, Body Harmonics, and most recently reformer teacher training at Muse Movement. Cait believes that movement in community is powerful; it nourishes the heart, reminds you of your resilience, and plants seeds for transformation.

ROB SPAGNOLA

Rob (he/him) has spent a lifetime dedicated to sport, recreation, and regular physical activity that has supported everything from performance to health and longevity. He owns and operates a small training gym in Picton’s historic Armoury building, providing personal and semi-private services to the community of PEC. His interests largely look at exploring the many ways people engage with movement, their abilities and how that can sustain them - this, while keeping in mind the principles of strength training and best available evidence-based practice.

TARYN DIAMOND

Taryn (she/her) will forever call herself a ‘new mom’. Her entry to yoga was through movement, but her passion resides in studying its roots in Eastern philosophy. If she had to pick one modality to be monogamous with, it would be Yoga Nidra (or ‘guided rest’). Through nidra, Taryn is able to express the golden nuggets embedded within the philosophy of yoga, while also facilitating some meaningful rest for her students. Taryn holds the Yoga Alliance’s highest certifications, ERYT-500 and YACEP.
