ATTUNE in Action

Since we started Thoughts on Thursdays, we've been unpacking our guiding acronym for The Process - ATTUNE. 

ATTUNE is an easy-to-follow roadmap & guide that you can apply when navigating any sort of challenge or difficulty in your day-to-day life.

It's your trusty template for building & maintaining deep, authentic connection with yourself & with others, & it is a powerful tool in reclaiming wholeness.

The acronym applies to both doing the work within ourselves (enhancing intrapersonal skills) & in our relationships (enhancing interpersonal skills). 

This week, we'll share how to use ATTUNE to enhance our intrapersonal skills, & to support ourselves in regulating our own nervous systems.

But before we do... 

We want to point out that while ATTUNE provides a step-by-step guide for us to follow, we know that healing is not linear. Sometimes, we may need to weave in & out of the acronym choosing tools as we go, we may need to combine practices from various letters, return to a previous practice even after moving past it, or stay within one practice for a long period of time.

With that said, let's review the basic flow of ATTUNE while holding onto the possibility that other creative ways to interact with it are welcomed & encouraged. 

Awareness

Here, we bring what is unconscious into consciousness. We take time to notice what we notice in our bodies, hearts, minds, & souls.

Once we are aware of what we notice, we resource... 

Tolerance

Where we safely learn to befriend & tend to our nervous system, expand our window of tolerance, & connect to our resources.

Once we feel resourced enough, we can...

Turn towards

Which allows us to safely break the habit of avoidance & begin to process the things that might have felt too overwhelming to face in the past.

Once we have processed & explored, we move into...

Understanding

What needs our attention, what wants to be heard, felt, seen, & understood. 

So that we can move forward & resolve with clarity and…

Nourish 

Offer a new experience that meets our core needs & provides nourishment to that part.  

Once we feel tended to in this way we take time to... 

Embody

Steep in the expansive experience of our true nature & inhabit our body with our full, whole self.

This framework of reclaiming wholeness is vitally important for each of us, and in our online group program, The Process, we unpack, explore, & experience each of these steps fully & completely. By using our acronym to 'attune' to what is going on inside ourselves, we're able to go deeper with our connection to self, which is the bridge to building wholehearted connection with others.
